What is the Shoreline Master Program?

The Shoreline Master Program (SMP) is a collection of policies and regulations that the city uses to guide development in the shoreline areas within Sultan’s jurisdiction. The shoreline areas are 200 feet upland of designated state shorelines. Sultan has three shorelines of state significance; the Sultan River, the Skykomish River, and a small portion of the Wallace River on the east side of town.
