Today, Snohomish County is submitting an application to the Washington State Department of Health to move to Phase 2 of the Governor’s reopening plan. We are expecting the application to be approved which will allow businesses to open including restaurants and taverns (at limited capacity), barbershops, beauty salons, and pet groomers. In home domestic services including nannies and house cleaners will also be allowed to continue operations.
The City of Sultan received federal funds through the CARES Act to assist in the response and recovery to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City Council approved the Mayor’s recommendation to use part of the CARES Act funds to support our local businesses with the necessary PPE to re-open according to state guidelines. Any businesses within Sultan City Limits is eligible to receive kits of masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant. There is a short application available by clicking the following link - Cares Act Business Assistance Application.
“I am excited that the City of Sultan is able to provide this support to local businesses as they work to reopen moving into Phase 2” said Mayor Russell Wiita. “Our businesses have been significantly affected by the COVID-19 shutdown and this grant program will help our local economic recovery.”
Finally, we encourage our community to shop locally and support our businesses as they reopen.
Russell Wiita, Mayor
