Unapproved Transient Activity

transient activity 9.17.2019

Since 2014, city staff, at the direction of the Mayor and city council has been taking a very proactive approach to ending unapproved transient activity within Sultan City limits. City Staff and Law Enforcement do regular city wide sweeps of public areas and address issues as they are found or reported.

The City of Sultan, Sheriff’s Office and Sultan Community Alliance take reports of unsanctioned transient camps, garbage and people living in vehicles seriously and will respond to reports of such acts in a timely manner. The City works with several partners including Social Services, the Office of Neighborhoods, Volunteers of America, and the Sultan Food Bank.

The best way to report unapproved transient activity is to call either the City directly at 360-793-2231 or to call 911. Please be prepared to give specific accurate details of where, what and when. If you would prefer, you can also file reports by submitting a request online. You may use any one of these methods but it is not necessary to do both at once.

The City will review the report and work with their partners to help address the issue as quickly as possible.
