Calei Vaughn, a first time elected official, was elected to the Sultan City Council Position 4 starting effective January 1, 2020.
Calei Vaughn is a native of Sultan, Washington. A 1988 graduate of Sultan High School, later in life went on to complete undergraduate studies at Western Washington University and received her Executive Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Washington, Evans School. Calei lives in Sultan with her husband, Mark. They enjoy traveling, sporting events, live music, and spending time with family.
Calei is a motivated business leader with 11 years of progressive experience in management and operations, including extensive experience developing integrated service delivery systems and collaborative partnerships. In her current role, Calei is the Director of the Carnegie Resource Center; operated by Pioneer Human Services. The Carnegie Resource Center, located in Everett, WA, provides a multitude of services at one location; eliminating barriers for under-served citizens. Calei has a strong background in working with marginalized populations, premised on the notion that financial support alone is insufficient to solve the problem of poverty. Calei is a dedicated professional with strong organizational skills and thoroughness that are vital in assisting individuals and families to live healthy and productive lives.
Calei played an integral role in creating the Sky Valley Youth Coalition and the Sultan Community Alliance. She previously served as an East County Board Member for Housing Hope. Today, Calei is an active participant on many committees that direct public funds toward complex social issues.
