Snohomish County SheriffThe Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office has provided law enforcement services to the City of Sultan under a police services contract since January 1, 2009. The County provides at least one deputy per shift to engage in patrol services exclusively within the geographical boundaries of the City, including 911 call response, proactive enforcement calls, and traffic enforcement.

East Precinct

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office East Precinct is located at 515 Main Street in downtown Sultan; the east precinct serves the entire Sky Valley region.

Services at the east precinct include concealed weapon license applications, fingerprinting services, and filing criminal complaints.


Lieutenant Mike Martin currently serves as the Interim Police Chief.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office is under the command of Sheriff Ty Trenary, who has served as the sheriff since 2013. Trenary is a strong advocate for community-style policing and has established his mission as “Community First.” In 2015, he created the Office of Neighborhoods, a division of the Sheriff’s Office that proactively seeks to address homelessness and untreated addiction.
