General Information
Development is happening in Sultan. The purpose of the City of Sultan's Economic Development Department is to promote economic growth and create jobs in a manner consistent with the desires of the community. We do this through strategic recruitment practices, assessment of community needs, establishment of partnerships and analysis of local, state, and national economic trends.

The following services and resources are provided by the Economic Development Department.

Things that impact the population and population projections are the revision of political boundaries (Sultans Urban Growth Boundary), Public Utilities (available connections to existing systems), retail businesses (food, clothing, entertainment, etc.), available healthcare (families & elderly), traffic, job opportunities, education, etc.


  Business Licenses

A master business license application for the State of Washington and a business license application for the City of Sultan may be obtained on the State of Washington Department of Licensing website.

Business licenses are required if your place of business is within the City limits. The licenses take one to two weeks and cost $75. An annual renewal is required and costs $50.
