Reid Shockey, of Shocky Brent will give a presentation to the City Council on the Comprehensive Plan Update at their regular meeting on Thursday, March 8 at 7:00pm.

Changes to the Comprehensive Plan Elements will be the focus of an Open House on Tuesday, March 13 from 4:00pm-8:00pm in the City Hall Council Chambers. Please come and share your thoughts on the proposed changes.

The City is close to having the Draft Plan put together for public hearings, pending the inclusion of the Transportation section.

A quick rundown on the status of the Plan at this point:

1. The February 20 draft of the Land Use, Natural Environment, Parks, and Capital Facilities elements are the current and operational chapters of the updated Comprehensive Plan. Once finalized these are the sections going into the updated Plan.
2. The Transportation Element is being produced by Perteet. The findings of that analysis will be integrated into the Capital Facilities Element and other chapters (e.g. land use) to meet internal consistency requirments.
3. Other chapters (elements) are being formatted for inclusion in Draft document. No major changes are anticipated. These include Economic development, Housing and the Action Plan and Implementation.
4. The "CTED Matrix" ("consistency matrix") will be revised based on the updated Plan.
